Spirit Prayer – Hummingbird (Little Flower Eagle)
Little Flower Eagle,
You curiously hover in front of my face.
Is there something you are trying to say?
Could it be that you are inviting me,
to leave negative thoughts behind,
and follow the sparks of joy?
Tell me, Little Hummer, how you live
in such a high healing state?
Do you release everything
that keeps you from surrendering to the beauty
of the dance with creation?
How do I let go before
assimilating the lessons?
What do you do with the experiences,
you once labeled – bad?
Is integration of them, your secret to flourishing?
Are you ready to share your secret with me?
And then, is it your ability to focus on the present?
Are you asking me to forget yesterday,
and not think of tomorrow,
but instead, drink in the sweetness,
from the flower in front of me?
Little Blissful One,
What makes your heart sing?
Are glimmers of hope hidden in the nectar,
or in your chicks, the next generation, that wait to be fed?
And when you are sipping for yourself,
or them,
do you know that you are pollinating the flowers,
thus, creating a more beautiful world?
I wonder, Hummingbird, if I fully engage in the present,
will I see, or perhaps create, a lovelier world?
