Whether or not you imagine that everything is meant to work together in a coordinated wholeness, Love is closer than you think. In our heightened individuality we name and categorize people, places and things, and then judge them, according to our partialities. In separating ourselves from, we miss out on growth, deep healing and the beauty of interconnectedness.
It takes trust to let ourselves be a part of something bigger. And it takes nothing less than what feels like blind, naked faith to embrace the whole of life, in its entirety. That said, once you glimpse the Holy in nature, or in that person you deem as other, you have momentarily experienced Oneness.
Being wowed by a sunset or a tree swaying in the wind is mystical, because in that little while you are a conduit between Earth and Heaven. And if you connect with another person, soul to soul, you are a channel between God and humankind.
Pause to feel the magnitude of that.
A spiritual encounter can be orgasmic, just as a physical relationship can be otherworldly. And once you’ve experienced the spiritual within ordinary reality, you’ve known Oneness.
Could Love’s home be that empty place inside of you? The next time you feel sad or lonely, why not deepen the relationship with the Sacred within? Oneness is your truest Self.
In our narratives, images are helpful. Nonetheless, taking visualization of God as a person too far, can hinder us from realizing the verb-like vastness of Love. Over personalizing can keep us from seeing the Divine in anything other than the one image we’ve created in our minds. What if the Holy is issuing invitations to us through all people and things?
In Love, there is no male or female, rich or poor. It includes all colors. When practiced in love, religion binds together. It does not divide.
One day I saw an owl in a piece of wood. After bringing the owl out with a little paint, I also saw a person there. If you allow it, the whole world will be your mirror. Love is closer than you think.
Making Spirit Flesh*
Experiencing Oneness with the Holy, ever how brief the moment, is the discovery of your truest Self, that divine part of you, your essence. And so, with god-likeness inside, how will you choose to live in your body, through human experiences, and with people who may not recognize anything beyond what they can see or prove?
